Hi...I was wondering if anyone had ever gone to AA meetings to purposely talk about TSM/nal, distribute the literature about it, etc. If so, were they kicked out or asked to leave or openly received?
After much thought and with some trepidation I chaired the Saturday Primary Purpose meeting (it has the most years of sobriety of any in town) here in Pueblo about two months ago to discuss TSM.
Unfortunately, the response was overwhelmingly negative to the point where one of the local AA powers that be started cutting me off, something I'd never before seen done in a meeting, and I've attended hundreds.
Contempt prior to investigation, indeed.
If such things can happen, I bet Bill W. greeted Dr. Sinclair with open arms at the Pearly Gates back in 2015.
Would that the institution he created be as open-minded as he was.
As it is, I can see no other future for AA than for it to slowly wither on the vine. I anticipate it will take a generation but IMO unless they figure this out they are consigning the fellowship to a slow fade into a historic curiousity.
Unfortunately I hadn't heard of TSM until after my blackout accident that seriously injured my neck so I have no personal experience.
I consider this no obstacle to sharing the cure; in fact, given that many people who get sober using a particular method tend to have biases toward that method I consider that I'm more able to objectively report on its efficacy.
The proven science of TSM isn't diminished at all by my inability to provide anecdotal info.
