Week 0 - I didn't count before I started Nal, but my best guess is somewhere around the 50-60 per week mark. 3, 2oz cocktails in an evening would be a very light evening of drinking for me, generally it would be 5 or 6. Weekends could see upwards of 12 a day. So yeah... I occasionally managed an AF day here and there, I'd say 4 or 5 over a year period (that may be optimistic).

This is a huge decrease. I know it's going to go up and down but it really felt great to end the week with these numbers. One of the AF days was really mostly due to son having a late ball game but I usually would have had a beer or something beforehand.
Now, last night (first night of week 3) I had two cocktails over about 2 hours (1.5 oz) poured a third and I ended up pouring it out and going to bed after about half an hour. I have to admit I had mixed feelings about this. Confusion? Lol. I've read other people saying this has happened and I honestly couldn't imagine it happening but it did. I felt like my brain was betraying me. (Hah)
But that's the point I suppose.
Also. I guess I felt a little sad that I wasn't getting that enjoyment from the cocktail. It was Friday night!
However, I slept great and woke up early to a beautiful day and went for a walk before heading out to my son's baseball game. Feeling fresh and proud of myself.
I suppose maybe part of this process will be almost mourning an old friend if you will. And that's okay.
floridamae, this is a good update. I like it! You're moving in the right direction, as Joe says. Keep on checking in...track your drinks, keep taking your Nal, be patient, and all good things will come!
Bit of an uptick this past week but it's been a little stressful with coronavirus and then my daughter broke her wrists at school the day before they shut down due to the virus so she's in double casts. I'm okay with the uptick, I've read enough to know it's to be expected.
