So I started nal Sept 25, 2018 and have reached extinction March 31, 2019. After looking back at the drink log I went down some. I was 42-50 drinks a week pre-TSM. Once I started nal I was averaging around 30-32. In the end I just suddenly stopped-with really no desire to drink again. I have to laugh because I still have 8 beers in the my frig-guess when a drinking friend comes over they can partake?
I encourage everyone who is on this journey with TSM to stay positive. Do NOT beat yourself up if you find you're drinking more than you want to. It takes time and my issue with alcohol was more an emotional addiction. I had to overcome my thinking and how I viewed alcohol in my day-to-day activities. Did I think I was missing-out by not drinking? Yes-but my perception was a lie. The reality is, my life, senses and experiences were immensely dulled by the alcohol. Without the alcohol I feel so free and have no guilt or shame. Also there is a huge marketing campaign out about drinking "healthy" drinks like lite beer or that red wine is good for your heart. There are much better options for your heart than that.
I am looking forward to this first year of AF and many more to follow.
Great news pixchic5 ! I still drink socially but my numbers are so low that I've been wondering why I even bother. Especially since I'm on a weight-loss quest and the empty calories don't make any sense.
