I decided to change primary care doctors, mostly because I haven't been to my primary in two years. Long story short is that I failed at TSM, and I didn't want to hear him lecture. There were other reasons I decided to refrain from using his services as well. So, I went to my new doctor yesterday. I had several health issues I wanted to discuss with her, of course one being my alcohol use disorder. It had been so long since I used Naltrexone that I forgot the name of it! LOL. One of my concerns was if I started back on Nal how would my other medication interfere or react. She looked it up and told me that it turns out that Gabapentin and Naltrexone used together to treat alcohol use disorder tends to be very effective.
When I told my new doctor about TSM, she'd never heard of it, but didn't bat an eye when I told her I wanted to try Naltrexone again. I wanted to share her name with the community, as well as have her added to the list of doctors who will prescribe Nal. She is a primary care physician as well as a rheumatologist.

I've also decided to try Ria, and have a phone consult on Monday.
Hey christin that's really nice of you to post this.. I know some find it hard to find a provider.. I would be VERY interested to know how the Gabapentin in addition to Nal works for you.. please keep us posted..
I am on my second round with Nal too.. fingers crossed!
Lots of luck- girl.. stick around and let us know how you are doing.
for the ones who continue, failure becomes impossible. And success becomes inevitable..
