I have been taking Selincro for three weeks now and there is not a day when I have not wanted to have a drink yet. Is this usual? I am drinking less but still every day. Should I just exercise more willpower?
quackers don't sweat it as this is totally usual as many have said on the other forum I am on www.thesinclairmethod.net/community/index.php?sid=ea9bb2039c3c1861d9fb270f2a01e448 to just let the science work and the Nal will eventually take care of AF days and less drinks per day, weeks etc. On the other hand I did force a few cause I actually was feeling so hungover I needed to feel better the next day and I may do this again today cause I am hungover AGAIN, yuck!
Hi Cheeto, thanks for the link to the other forum, I didn't know about that one and will have a look. Another question I'm throwing out there. Felt a bit of a niggle when brushing my teeth and was thinking my dentist would presumably have to be informed if I needed anaesthetic? Good luck with the AF day.
Quakers, keep on doing as you are. Three weeks isn't long at all.
Yes, if you need treatment at the dentist then you will need to inform them that you cannot have anything opiate based. They will likely have something else suitable to use instead.
If they don't, ensure that the Selincro is completely out your system before any procedure and remember that you cannot restart until a full week has passed, so that any opiates used are also out your system.
Quackers I hope you don't mind me asking Joanna a question on this thread that is related to this?
Joanna I will be having maybe a root canal and definitely a crown done in Mexico in January. The Mexican dentist speaks English but I hope he will understand when I tell him that I do not want anything opiate based. If not how long do you think I need to have Naltrexone out of my system to get this done? Then I have to wait a whole 7 days to take Nal again, is this right?
I'm not medically trained so please check with your doctor, but if it was me I would be looking to go without naltrexone or Selincro for 48 hours prior. You wouldn't want the medication not to work or it would probably be a bit painful :-( Ouch!
As for afterwards, again if it was me, I would go for 7-10 days. Just to be on the safe side.
