I'm trying to find a shrink or therapist in the Pensacola area familiar with tsm to work with for all the problems stopping drinking creates. I still got an alcoholic brain. Just started my third week of tsm.

Hi, Davewave! There don't seem to be any brick and mortar TSM docs in your area, but SinclairMethod.org and Riahealth.com are a couple of Telemedicine possibilities. SinclairMethod.org has a psychiatrist covering all of Florida and RiaHealth.com has coaches and peer support available. I think either can also prescribe additional medications that team up well with TSM.
How does the alcoholic brain manifest as a problem for you?
In AA they call alcohol just a symptom of underlying problems (O.C.D., childhood trauma,abuse,etc.). That's what the 12 steps are about. I've been through the steps several times and it helped with a lot of those issues. What it doesn't help with is the OCD,and of course the physical aspects which TSM targets. The OCD isn't to bad , it's manageable, but annoying and tiresome. I'm hoping it'll improve after extinction. But will it? It seems to be getting worse along with my drinking. I'm hoping my liver can survive long enough to get me through this process. I'm still drinking 1.5 liter of wine a day......Here's to HOPE!!!
davewave: we’re with you!! TSM works for most people, it just takes time and compliance. Don’t skip the Nal whatever you do. Start a log of your drinking. Start a thread under the Progress section of this forum. Keep us in the loop. Understand that you’ll see ups and downs; the idea is to see progress over months, not days. We can do this!
